PRAYER & PRAISE

Please remember the following in your prayer time
(* denotes an update)

*FROM PASTOR STEVE

Please pray for the Lord's will to be done in the lives of all youth. For those who are attending BLIZZARD (Feb 5-7), we would ask that you join us in prayer for the seeds to be planted, watered, and harvested. Please also pray for lasting relationships to be developed, safety, and good health. Keep the pastors, leaders, Muskoka Woods staff, CBOQ volunteers/staff, the speaker Mike Gordon, and the band 'Life Support' in your thoughts and prayers. Pray for the love of God to be felt and the power of the Holy Spirit to go with each one as they reach out and journey with the next generation. The theme for the weekend is 'Discover: Finding Your Identity in Christ'. May each student realize who they are in Christ and what steps they need to take to remain close to Him. Pray they come back as impacted followers of Christ ready to go and share the Gospel with friends, neighbours, and family members.

This is the plea of persecuted Christians around the world. Today around the world over 200 million are suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. Each year, Canadians join with Christians in over 130 countries to stand in prayer with our suffering sisters and brothers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).

Persecuted Church – Did you know?

An estimated 100 million Christians are murdered, assaulted, raped, tortured, beaten, abducted, forced to flee as internal, and external refugees.
Many Christians are forced to be secret believers, unable to declare their faith openly, and cannot get help from churches because their presence will jeopardize the safety of churches.
Persecution is growing and expanding in Africa, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela and Peru.
Christian radio stations like Trans World Radio, HCJB Global Radio, and Far Eastern Broadcasting Association beam into persecuting areas to encourage secret believers.
Persecuted Christians face job discrimination, and lose educational opportunities.
