*LATIN AMERICAN PARTNERS - CBM works through and by invitation of the local church. Like any field, working with the church has its particular challenges, but we believe that it is God's approach to effect lasting changes in people and communities. Please pray for the strengthening of CBM's partnerships across Latin America: in Cuba and Bolivia, in Argentina & Costa Rica supporting theological training, in El Salvador, and for new opportunities for partnerships in other countries. Please pray for understanding of how the gospel is relevant in each context and for opportunities for the local church to engage communities.
*THE SOUCYS IN BOLIVIA - 2014 has been a year of transition for the Soucys, our CBM team leaders in Latin America who were previously based out of Rwanda. As team leaders, they will help to navigate relationships between partner churches in Latin America and Canada, supporting the work that CBM is already engaged in, as well as looking for additional opportunities for partnerships. Please pray for their Spanish language studies required to effectively communicate with partners, for good cultural guides, and for all our Latin American partners as they seek to be relevant representatives of Jesus in their context.
SAMARITAN'S PURSE - Doug and Beulah A. Doug is a team leader in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THOSE WHO WORK IN CHINA WITH ORPHANS - It has been reported through Morning Star Family Home that China is developing a new law that forbids foreigners from working with Chinese children. Pray that God's will would be done in this country where these precious children are concerned.

PERSECUTED CHURCH

Check www.persecution.net for weekly updates of ‘The Persecution & Prayer Alert – The Voice of the Martyrs’.

PRAYER WARRIORS NETWORK – Art & Antonia W (Monthly updates available on Mission Board in the foyer.)
*AMMAN, JORDAN – Pastor Jody, who has lived in Jordan for 16 years, and his assistant Pastor M have been deported to their home countries. They and their church members say the authorities are angered that 75 Muslims have been regularly attending the services of Grace Church. Therefore the authorities are trying to close the church. No Jordanian law prohibits Christians from practicing their faith.

This is the plea of persecuted Christians around the world. Today around the world over 200 million are suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. Each year, Canadians join with Christians in over 130 countries to stand in prayer with our suffering sisters and brothers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).

Persecuted Church – Did you know?

An estimated 100 million Christians are murdered, assaulted, raped, tortured, beaten, abducted, forced to flee as internal, and external refugees.
Many Christians are forced to be secret believers, unable to declare their faith openly, and cannot get help from churches because their presence will jeopardize the safety of churches.
Persecution is growing and expanding in Africa, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela and Peru.
Christian radio stations like Trans World Radio, HCJB Global Radio, and Far Eastern Broadcasting Association beam into persecuting areas to encourage secret believers.
Persecuted Christians face job discrimination, and lose educational opportunities.
