*LEBANON - Please pray for the Botros family, our CBM Mission Partners, who left Canada last week to begin their work with the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) in Lebanon. Emad and Almess were appointed by CBM in January 2015 to serve at the ABTS, where Emad will serve as a lecturer in the areas of Old Testament and Islamic studies, and Almess will be exploring opportunities to work with Iraqi and Syrian refugees. Pray for their transition and adjustment along with their two boys Timothy and Nathaniel.

PERSECUTED CHURCH

Check www.persecution.net for weekly updates of ‘The Persecution & Prayer Alert – The Voice of the Martyrs’.

PRAYER WARRIORS NETWORK – Art & Antonia W (Monthly updates are available on Mission Board in foyer.)
"When I (Nehemiah) heard these things (Jerusalem in ruins) I wept and prayed before the God of heaven." - Nehemiah 1:4
*SUDAN - Pastor Michael and Pastor Yet who defended church members have now been charged with "espionage and spreading hatred among the sects". Their trial will mean that they may face the death penalty for defending the rights of Christians in an Islamic country. Pray for the Lord to save them.

KEVIN AND JULIA G - have been serving in China for the past 30 years. They have been detained by authorities since last August amid allegations of spying for North Korea. It is believed that this action is a political response to Canadian allegations of a Chinese infiltration into the National Research Council. Regardless, they are being unjustly detained. Pray for their safety, for an outpouring of support, and for the outworking of God's justice leading to their release.

This is the plea of persecuted Christians around the world. Today around the world over 200 million are suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. Each year, Canadians join with Christians in over 130 countries to stand in prayer with our suffering sisters and brothers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).

Persecuted Church – Did you know?

An estimated 100 million Christians are murdered, assaulted, raped, tortured, beaten, abducted, forced to flee as internal, and external refugees.
Many Christians are forced to be secret believers, unable to declare their faith openly, and cannot get help from churches because their presence will jeopardize the safety of churches.
Persecution is growing and expanding in Africa, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela and Peru.
Christian radio stations like Trans World Radio, HCJB Global Radio, and Far Eastern Broadcasting Association beam into persecuting areas to encourage secret believers.
Persecuted Christians face job discrimination, and lose educational opportunities.
