     Our CBM Partners in Mission:
          Kenya - Wayne & Maureen M -
          Middle East
 – Rupen & Mamta D -
*Rwanda - Ask God for healing for the many people scarred by the genocide in Rwanda. Pray that by His Spirit He will open our ears to hear those affected by this horrific event. Please remember the victims and their families before God and petition Him to work in the hearts of both victims and perpetrators to bring forth good. Ask for strength and courage for those who share their stories and pray that Christ will sustain every person whose life was touched by this tragedy. Pray that they be assured that their present affliction is not in vain, but that in Christ they have hope both in the present and in eternity.
*Canada - Praise God for all the people He brought together at the New Paths Indigenous Peoples Conference. Thank God for new relationships forged and ask that Jesus would continue to use the ministry of local churches to draw First Nations people to Him. Ask that He open our eyes to the deplorable conditions in which many in their communities must live. May He touch our hearts and lead us to respond in appropriate ways. Ask God to help bring about reconciliation and understanding about how they have been treated historically and pray that He will lead our government leaders as they seek to make restitution.
*International - Monday, April 7 was World Health Day. Preventable diseases remind us that we live in a broken world. Pray for the many people that suffer from chronic conditions and diseases. Ask that they will sense Christ's presence with them. Pray especially for children who suffer from chronic, life-limiting conditions. Ask not only for healing, but that they will be given hope, not only medically, but also spiritually and emotionally. Ask that their families be comforted and that God would give them the courage and love to sustain them.
*SAMARITAN'S PURSE - Doug and Beulah A. Two months ago, Doug left MCBC to take up his responsibilities as team leader in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We received an update from Doug this week which you will find posted on the Mission Board in the hallway. Pray for them as they settle into a new home in Bunia and Beulah travels to join Doug in the DRC.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THOSE WHO WORK IN CHINA WITH ORPHANS - It has been reported through Morning Star Family Home that China is developing a new law that forbids foreigners from working with Chinese children. Pray that God's will would be done in this country where these precious children are concerned.

Check for weekly updates of ‘The Persecution & Prayer Alert – The Voice of the Martyrs’.

*Zanzibar Island - This part of Tanzanian territory has had peaceful relations between Christians and Muslims. In 2010, an 'Association of Islamic Mobilization and Propagation' began to agitate violently to achieve goals: one is to make the island Islamic, second to declare Zanzibar independent from the rest of Tanzania. Two Catholic priests have been killed. Two British church volunteers have had acid thrown at their faces and another priest narrowly escaped death from an attack. Christians are terrified about this turn of events so quickly. Pray for God to intervene.

This is the plea of persecuted Christians around the world. Today around the world over 200 million are suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. Each year, Canadians join with Christians in over 130 countries to stand in prayer with our suffering sisters and brothers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).

Persecuted Church – Did you know?

An estimated 100 million Christians are murdered, assaulted, raped, tortured, beaten, abducted, forced to flee as internal, and external refugees.
Many Christians are forced to be secret believers, unable to declare their faith openly, and cannot get help from churches because their presence will jeopardize the safety of churches.
Persecution is growing and expanding in Africa, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela and Peru.
Christian radio stations like Trans World Radio, HCJB Global Radio, and Far Eastern Broadcasting Association beam into persecuting areas to encourage secret believers.
Persecuted Christians face job discrimination, and lose educational opportunities.
