*Philippines - No doubt we have all been keeping up with the news, following the typhoon that devastated many parts of the Philippines in recent days. Canadians are being generous in their giving to the disaster fund, so please pray that as our government honours its commitment to match funds dollar for dollar, those dollars will be quickly and appropriately dispersed to those in the most need. Pray too that the generosity of their neighbours around the world will bring hope and encouragement to those who have suffered the greatest loss.
*HIV / AIDS - Next Monday (Dec. 1st) is World AIDS Day. AIDS statistics continue to be staggering and cannot be ignored. Since its recognition as a serious disease over 30 years ago, AIDS has often been overshadowed by other health and disaster crises, but the reality remains that over 34 million people around the world are living HIV-positive. We are asking churches and individuals to pray that the Lord will comfort those whose lives are affected by AIDS while at the same time sustaining and motivating those who work with CBM's Guardians of Hope programs as they continue to obey His call to provide compassionate support and care to the poor and suffering.
EUROVANGELISM - Doug C
PLEASE PRAY FOR THOSE WHO WORK IN CHINA WITH ORPHANS - It has been reported through Morning Star Family Home that China is developing a new law that forbids foreigners from working with Chinese children. Pray that God's will would be done in this country where these precious children are concerned.

Sulu, South Philippines - Two churches of Muslim background believers have faced serious threats. The churches are not meeting on Sundays now. Pray for them to have courage. Pray for those who have fled for safety reasons and for those who have stayed to endure the threats.
This is the plea of persecuted Christians around the world. Today around the world over 200 million are suffering for their faith in Jesus Christ. Each year, Canadians join with Christians in over 130 countries to stand in prayer with our suffering sisters and brothers for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).
Persecuted Church – Did you know?
An estimated 100 million Christians are murdered, assaulted, raped, tortured, beaten, abducted, forced to flee as internal, and external refugees.
Many Christians are forced to be secret believers, unable to declare their faith openly, and cannot get help from churches because their presence will jeopardize the safety of churches.
Persecution is growing and expanding in Africa, Chechnya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela and Peru.
Christian radio stations like Trans World Radio, HCJB Global Radio, and Far Eastern Broadcasting Association beam into persecuting areas to encourage secret believers.
Persecuted Christians face job discrimination, and lose educational opportunities.
