Missions Team presents Mission India

Experience God at work in INDIA
Widen your worldview for Missions
BACKGROUND:
This is MCBC's international short-term mission project for 2014. Five people, along with our Lead Pastor Richard Root and Augustine A, chair of our Missions Team, will spend 16 days in India learning about this spectacular country, known for its unity in diversity, and participating in some of the marvelous ways people are responding to the gospel. We will be spending time with our mission partner Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) and various indigenous mission agencies. Along the way, you will also have the opportunity to see the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, and many other places of pilgrimage and beauty that adorn the landscape of India.

TENTATIVE DATES: September 22 - October 6, 2014

40 Days of Prayer

"God shapes the world by prayer. The more prayer there is in the world, the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil..." E.M. Bounds

Thank you for joining us in our 40 Days of Prayer. During this season as we prepare for Easter, we encourage you to spend time each day in prayer—listening for God's voice in your life and His leading for our church, praying for specific needs and opportunities, and celebrating God's faithfulness as He responds to the prayers of His people. We invite you to record your prayers, your requests, and God's answers in a Prayer Journal.

For Prayer this Week:
1) Next Sunday is the beginning of a new chapter in the life of MCBC; the launch of a second service on Sunday mornings. This coincides with the celebration of Easter which marks a dramatic new chapter in the history of salvation and in our lives. Pray that the glorious victory of Christ over death and the promise of new life would infuse not only our Easter services, but the future of MCBC. We hope the move to a two-service format will be a joyful celebration of the new life God is bringing to our church.

2) This week you are encouraged to spend time reflecting on the mystery and the majesty of the cross. We invite you to make your way to the church during the evening hours of 6-9 pm, from Monday to Thursday. Begin praying today that God will use these days of prayer and contemplation to stir the hearts of His people and draw them closer to Christ.

3) Uphold our church's leaders in your prayers. Our Elders are wrestling with a number of significant opportunities. The Deacons are busy as always and looking to add to their ranks. Our Missions Team is excitedly planning Mission Opportunities to India and the Philippines. Our Care Group leaders are finding new life and direction under the leadership of Pastor Sheldon. Pastor Steve and our youth leaders are preparing for the 'Azan retreat and the Ohsweken summer mission. Promiseland and all of our other Sunday ministries are preparing for the transition to two services. Midweek ministry leaders are faithfully moving ahead. Pray that God keeps all of our leaders under the anointing of His Spirit.
