Our mission statement
"To be a resource for men to grow in Christ. To equip them to become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ, and accountable to each other; and to mentor men, as leaders both personally and within the body of Christ."
Who are we?
We are men just like you. We represent a wide cultural variety and are multi-generational. We come from a wide variety of educational, work and business environments. Although we share many different life experiences we are all trying to balance the demands and stresses in our lives. The one thing that we have in common is that we are seeking to know God through Jesus Christ and to become the man that He wants us to be.
What do we do?
We believe that life is to be lived as a community and that no man should walk alone. Therefore we offer a number of ways for men to connect with other men. You will be surprised how many men have similar life experiences as you do! Please look through the following ways that you could connect to this group of men and discover your place with us on this journey.
Connecting through events such as...
A great way to come to the church and meet the guys. All are welcome! There is time for you to connect with other men, hear a message in a "men only" environment and be filled with a hardy breakfast. No we don't wear buffalo hats.
Men's breakfast schedule
Men's golf and BBQ
This is event that we host each summer that creates memories. At the driving range we make that little ball soar through the air in a variety of flight patterns. We always have some laughs in this relaxed environment! Back at the church we enjoy a man sized meal and then are challenged to a game of cricket. This is a great way to begin to know the guy that you see at church on Sunday.
Family Camp Fire night
New to our ministry this year is our annual camp fire night. This is the perfect time for you and your family to come to the church for a relaxing evening around a supervised camp fire. Everyone has the chance to roast hot dogs and marsh mellows over the fire while getting to know other people at MCBC. Don't miss it!
Discovery Programs such as...
This is our main event each year with powerful worship, incredible resources and challenging messages just for you. You will also have the opportunity to daily devotionals, mp3 messages and magazines for men. Use the link for more information.
The Quest for Authentic Manhood is a journey that every man will be challenged with. This is a study of manhood as it was designed by God and modeled by Jesus Christ. It is an encouraging process that builds community and calls men up to a higher call of living. Use the link for more information.
Men's Fraternity Testimonies
Impact For Now And Eternity
Without a doubt the impact that Men's Fraternity has had on many men in our church is beyond what we originally imagined. At last we are seeing men representing all generations and many diverse cultures receiving practical Biblical guidance and personal accountability for their life's journey as a man.
These men are more secure in their identity- as son, husband, father, and grandfather, so family life is impacted. They are challenged in their marketplace experiences to be men of integrity and witnesses to the life changing power of Jesus Christ. Pastors, pray that the Lord will raise up a champion in your congregation who will invest time and energy into the spiritual development of other men. This generation can be changed one man at a time and future generations will reap the benefits. Men's Fraternity is an amazing tool to effect this change. To God be the Glory!
J. David Russell, D.Min
I have found Men's Fraternity to be a powerful voice for real everyday life Biblical application. Guys like me just want simple things that work well, and Men's Fraternity excels in both areas. Every man should attend Men's Fraternity at least once, to see what positive changes it would make to their lives.
My name is Simon Miller, and I'm learning what it takes to be an Authentic Man in today's world. This understanding doesn't happen overnight - and I could never have figured it out myself. Let me explain my journey.
Like many people, I never had it easy growing up. I was a poor kid that was always made fun of at school, and was treated very badly by my stepfather at home. My father abandoned me at the age of 12 and gave me up for adoption. I moved away from home into my own apartment before I was finished High School. When I went to University, I barely had the clothes on my back and nothing else but debt. Despite many hardships I managed to overcome all obstacles - I finished my education, and was getting paid well at work with a promising career track. I got married, and currently have 4 wonderful children.
Despite this apparent success - there were some problems. I felt like I was no longer running downhill and instead was running up a big hill. Every step got harder. I had a sense that something was missing in my life, yet I couldn't find what I was looking for. I knew my marriage could be better, that I could be a better father, that I wasn't the person I knew I could be if I could just figure things out. I felt alone and frustrated. What I didn't know at the time was that my past was holding me back. I had wounds I wasn't aware of that weren't going to heal any time soon. Deep down, I was still a boy.
I was invited to a Men's Fraternity group, and from the first morning of the 24 week curriculum I was pumped. Finally I could understand how my past was controlling my future, and how I could redefine what I thought of myself. I learned what my wife really needed (I thought it was just money). I learned how to better love my children - my sons will grow up to be rare modern day knights, and my daughters will some day know how to seek out authentic men as husbands. My life is much better, I'm happier with more friends. I've reconnected with my father. My career has significantly advanced with no limits or obstacles in sight. Most importantly, my marriage is fun again.
Most guys don't know how to clearly define what it means to be a man, and how to be a man. I invite you to come and find out what it takes. P.S. If you're thinking to yourself "everything is fine with my life - I don't need this", then we need you. Men's Fraternity only works with senior guys who can share their experiences - both good and bad. There's something for everyone - that's my promise. I hope to see you at the information session.
Saturday Morning study
Each Saturday morning you will be invited to a Men's Bible study that will challenge you to grow and to get connected to other men. Each study will have a focus to the word of God. The sessions run from 7:30 am to 9:00 am. All are welcome.
