Lead Pastor Richard Root
Pastor Richard comes to MCBC with twenty years of experience in pastoral ministry and has just completed serving a term as President of Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec. He has a passion for the work of the local church, and particularly for seeing how not only individual lives but entire communities are transformed as people move outside the walls of the church building to live and speak the good news of Christ.
Pastor Richard is a graduate of the clinical psychology program at the University of Waterloo and holds an M.Div. degree from McMaster Divinity College . Richard and his wife Corinna have three children: Rachel (13), Nicole (10) and Joshua (6). When he is not enjoying the busy, sleep-deprived euphoria of work and family he can be found indulging his love for the cinema, squash and distance running.
"I am thrilled to join the growing family who call MCBC their church home and the wider community of Mississauga that we serve. It is a remarkable community--where the nations of the world, each with their own distinctive contribution to our gospel witness, have joined together in laughter, celebration, worship and service--God's hands and feet in the world." |
