Each year, during the week between Palm Sunday and Easter weekend, we have held daily evening services here at MCBC. The goal of these services is help you and your family in their personal preparation for the celebration of the death & resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Traditionally, these services have taken a similar format to a standard service. This year, we would like to offer you the opportunity to prepare for this Easter season in a new way…
This year we will be offering the “Journey of the Cross” experience during Holy Week. This experience consists of 13 different areas that each include Scripture and an interactive component. These areas are designed to allow us to reflect on different moments in the last days of Jesus’ life, with the goal of preparing your own heart & mind for what we will be experiencing as a church family this Easter weekend.
Each evening will have the same experiences prepared, so you are encouraged to pick ONE evening to participate. As you enter the sanctuary, there will be instructions and a clear path laid out for you to follow as you journey between each area. Each person will be given a booklet to record any thoughts or experiences at the areas to allow you to write or draw as God speaks to you during this time.
Pastor Jamie will introduce this experience on Palm Sunday as a part of his sermon. We hope you will be able to participate during Holy Week and allow God to prepare your heart and mind for the upcoming Easter celebration in a new and unique way with this opportunity.
