What does it mean to be a 'Christian' today?

1. A church attender?
2. A decent law abiding citizen?
3. A family tradition?
4. None of the above?

Actually, #4 is the correct answer.

A Christian is a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

Here is how you can become a real Christian today:

1. Agree with God that He created you to have a relationship with Him, but your sin has prevented you from experiencing it. (Romans 3:23, John 1:9)
2. Believe that Jesus Christ is God's only Son and that He paid the penalty of your sin by His death and resurrection. (John 3:16, Romans 3:23-26)
3. Confess your sin, repent and receive God's forgiveness and new birth. (Romans 10:9, John 1:12)
4. Decide to read the Bible, worship God with his people and grow in your knowledge of Him. (1 Timothy 3:16, Jude 20,21)

Follow these simple steps and the Holy Spirit will fill you and give you the assurance of your new life in Christ.
